I was recently contacted by a bootleg trader called Ericfg who has a sizeable collection of Judas Priest bootleg tapes he's collected since the 1980s and now wants to share them with the rest of the world. The deal is that instead of sending tapes or CDs back and forth, he digitizes the tapes at home and then sends the raw, unedited recordings to me by WeTransfer to which I apply whatever edits I see fit and then get them out to the rest of the bootleg world. No EQing by the way, I've learned my lesson from some previous uploads. Just track splitting, volume balancing and tape speed corrections if needed.
The second show in this series is a pretty rare one from the short US tour in late 1978. The setlist is quite unique and contains probably one of the band's first ever live performances of The Green Manalishi, which would soon become a staple in their live set for years to come. Unfortunately the sound quality leaves something to be desired, as while the sound is fairly clean most of the time it's also very bass-heavy and the recording has some very occasional distortion issues. Victim of Changes cuts out prematurely and Starbreaker is almost completely missing due to a tape flip. There's also a glitch midway through Tyrant. The only edits I made to this recording was splitting it into individual tracks and balancing the channels (the left channel was much louder than the right), so you might get some improvement by EQing. My bootleg list is here, if you want something else uploaded or can share something I don't have yet: http://nuppiz.webs.com/lossless-bootleg-list. I'm especially interested in any audio from the 1970s to 1991.
