Notes from Diamond Dave The tapers name is John S, that’s him & me yappin throughout the show (we were 17 at the time!). I believe the headliner that night was Angel, with Judas Priest in the middle slot, and The Godz opening the show. We were sitting in the balcony, fairly low, if I remember correctly, and the recorder was one of those old all in one built in mic cassette jammies.
Production Notes While I'm not a huge JP fan, I have seen them in concert a few times. What amazes me is that many of the songs they play live today they played live in 1978. It's nice when an artist not only remembers their roots but plays what the fans want to hear. Alas as noted in the taper notes, this wasn't recorded on a high end recorder with zillion dollar mics and the recording shows it. However for a 30 year old recording from a band that is still going strong...well beggars can't be choosy.
Thanks go out to Xembla for the artwork and of course to Diamond Dave for the source. Thanks everyone!
